A Note From the PTO President
What a great turnout at our meeting last week! Thanks to Ms. Ivy for her updates on staffing, Chantilly’s “A” grade, and other items. And thanks to everyone who joined us and made it a productive, informative session. I hope to see even more of you at our next general meeting, on October 18th at 7pm (after the spaghetti dinner)!
Sutton Shealey did it again with Popsicles on the Playground! 234 popsicles served and many new connections made.
Thanks to Lauren Sawyers and her team for their work on communications. Lauren is a triple threat, also overseeing room parents and Thankful Thursdays!
This week the PTO is providing lunch for our wonderful teaching assistants. We are so grateful to them, and happy to be able to treat them to lunch.
Please mark your calendars now for our Fall Parking Fundraiser. We will open the field to folks attending the Southern Christmas Show on November 10, 11, 12, 17 and 18. We need all hands on deck to make this run smoothly. Please save the dates, and keep an eye out for the sign-ups!
Family Information Forms
If you haven’t already done so, please take a minute to fill out the online family information contact form. The PTO is compiling a school directory (for Chantilly family use only) and we want to make sure everyone is included. Please fill out the form once for every student you have at the school. It only takes two minutes!

It’s time for the Fall Book Fair at Chantilly and our young readers need your help. Sign up for a shift or several!
A Note From Ms. Camie
Once again, our students will be learning about the importance of digital citizenship during the 2018-2019 the school year. Students in lower el and upper el are beginning the Common Sense Media Digital Citizenship Course during their weekly technology class time. Kindergarten students will begin the course during 2nd quarter.
I will send home some family resources related to technology throughout the year. See the following article regarding screen time .
Common Sense Media has a wealth of information and resource for families.

Contact Lauren Sawyers (firstname.lastname@example.org) with questions.
Again, many thanks to those who have already contributed to the Invest in Your Child campaign! Now that the school year is finally in full swing, we really need those of you who have not yet contributed to do so. Please participate in this community-wide effort. You do NOT need to purchase the full IYC pass. Any amount will help!
If you have not yet done so, please contribute via Pay Pal or check and return the IYC form in the envelope provided with your back-to-school folder in your child’s backpack. If you need another form, you may print it from the PTO website here.
Also, if your company matches charitable contributions, please be sure to request that matching donation at this time, too.
Thank you for supporting this important campaign!
